Close to six million Australians volunteer their time within local communities across the country, contributing to stronger and healthier environments. During National Volunteer Week, those who donate their time to golf are being celebrated.

Volunteers play a crucial role in Australian Golf, with approximately 30,000 individuals dedicating their time and skills to support the sport enjoyed by 3.8 million Australians over the past year.

This summer, more than 1,600 volunteers contributed to successful Challenger PGA Tour of Australasia and WPGA Tour of Australasia seasons. Additionally, over 50 volunteers served as Tournament Support Officials at professional and elite amateur events, assisting with refereeing, registration, course setup, and other tasks.

With over 30 professional events this past summer requiring volunteer assistance nationwide, these individuals consistently stepped up to meet the demand at each event location.

The success and growth of Australian Golf heavily rely on volunteers’ contributions. Golf Australia, the PGA of Australia, and the WPGA Tour of Australasia express their gratitude by stating: “Three Cheers For Volunteers!”
