The PGA of Australia’s Western Australia office and GolfWA will soon share a headquarters for the first time. Both organizations are moving to SportHQ in Floreat, with GolfWA relocating in late August and the PGA of Australia’s WA-based staff following in September. The transition is scheduled to have both bodies fully operational at their new location by September 1 and October 1, respectively.
Previously, the PGA of Australia’s WA office was based at Wembley Golf Course since 2016, while GolfWA has operated from South Perth since its formation in 2011. SportHQ, which will house the two golf organizations, is also home to SportWest and several other sports bodies including Rugby WA, Western Force, Lacrosse WA, Sports Medicine Australia and Triathlon WA.
Brendon Allanby, the PGA of Australia’s WA State Manager, commented on the move: “The PGA enjoys a strong relationship with GolfWA and this move will enhance how both organisations work together into the future,” he said.
“We thank the Town of Cambridge for allowing us to call Wembley Golf Course home these past nine years. It is truly a world-class facility.”
GolfWA Chief Executive Gary Thomas also welcomed the change: “Sharing working space with the PGA will allow close collaboration and sharing of best practice processes that can only further benefit golf in the state.”
The organizations confirmed that phone and email contact details will remain unchanged during this transition. Members are not expected to experience any interruption in service as operations shift to SportHQ.
