A late bogey and a strong performance by a 15-year-old amateur prevented Queensland’s Justice Bosio from securing her first professional victory at the Amundi Czech Ladies Challenge. Bosio, who was previously defeated in a playoff on the LET Access Series, held a narrow one-stroke lead late in the final round. However, she dropped a shot at the par-4 16th hole, two-putted for par at the par-5 17th, and managed to get up-and-down for par at the final hole. This led her to join England’s Gemma Clews, Austria’s Katharina Muehlbauer, and French amateur Alice Kong in a playoff.
The playoff concluded after just one extra hole when Kong made a birdie from 13 feet to secure victory over the three professionals. Despite not winning, Bosio shared in the winner’s prize money and earned crucial Order of Merit points. With another runner-up finish under her belt, Bosio now leads the LET Access Series Rookie of the Year standings and has moved up to fifth on the Order of Merit. The top seven players last season earned promotion to the Ladies European Tour.
In other Australian performances this week, Kelsey Bennett achieved another top-10 finish on the Ladies European Tour with a tie for 10th place at the Hulencourt Women’s Open in Belgium. This marks Bennett’s fourth top-10 finish during her rookie season and moves her up to 20th on the Order of Merit.
Meanwhile, Karis Davidson led early rounds at the Meijer LPGA Classic in Michigan with six Australians inside the top 11 through 36 holes. Davidson finished tied for seventh by week’s end—her best result on the LPGA Tour so far.
Adam Scott faced challenges during his final round at Oakmont Country Club during the US Open but ended with hopes of capturing his second major championship dashed by a score of nine-over-par 79. Scott Hend secured a share of tenth place at Costa Navarino Legends Tour Trophy.
