Tim Elliott secured his place in two major golfing events this summer by winning the Victorian PGA Professional Championships at Portsea Golf Club. He faced challenging weather conditions but emerged victorious with a round of even-par 71, finishing one stroke ahead.

Elliott, known for his success on the PGA Legends Tour, including a recent win at the Cottesloe Senior Invitational, achieved victory by birdieing his final two holes. Meanwhile, Lachlan Armour initially led after three consecutive birdies but faltered with a triple bogey on his last hole, ending tied for second with David Tapping. Both Armour and Tapping finished with rounds of 1-over 72.

With this win, Elliott earns spots in both the PGA Professionals Championship National Final at The Heritage Golf and Country Club from November 11-13 and exemptions into the Vic PGA Championship at Moonah Links Resort and the Australian PGA Senior Championship at Richmond Golf Club. Armour and Tapping also receive invitations to the Vic PGA.

The event saw 74 PGA Professionals compete at Portsea, with the top 15 advancing to the National Final. Sheradyn Johnson was among five players tied for 14th place but advanced as the highest-finishing woman.

Those who qualified for the National Final include Tim Elliott, David Tapping, Lachlan Armour, Shane Johnson, Simon Angliss, Alex Pitty, Matthew Howell, Levi Burns, Ben Ford, Ben Murphy, Daniel Defilice, Matt Voglas, Nick Dastey, Michael Isherwood, Jack Chrystie. Reserves are Finlay Bellingham and Kevin Conlong.
