Australian golfer Cam Davis returns to the Detroit Golf Club with a unique reminder of his previous successes at the Rocket Classic tournament. The 30-year-old, who will tee off alongside fellow Australian Min Woo Lee, has been honored with a bobblehead commemorating his victories in 2021 and last year. “When I heard that that was a potential for this week, I definitely wasn’t going to say no to having one of those done,” said Davis during his pre-tournament press conference. He added, “They nailed it. I heard the hair color was a difficult one to nail, but I think they did a really good job.”

In addition to the bobblehead, food outlets at the Detroit Golf Club will offer the “Davis Double,” a sandwich inspired by Davis’s post-victory meal after his first win. The golfer expressed hope that these gestures would help rejuvenate his PGA TOUR season after some recent struggles.

Davis began the year strong with top-20 finishes at The Sentry and The American Express and achieved a tie for fifth place at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. However, he has missed seven cuts in his last 13 starts without any top-10 finishes. Reflecting on this rough patch, Davis stated, “It’s been a little bit of banging my head against a wall over and over again, waiting for something to change.” He believes returning to Detroit might provide the inspiration needed for improvement.

The Rocket Classic is not just about individual competition; several tournaments are occurring simultaneously worldwide involving Australian golfers across various tours such as the US Senior Open and LIV Golf Dallas.
