The field for the PGA Professionals Championship National Final has been finalized following the completion of the NSW/ACT championship at Castle Hill Country Club. The event, which had faced delays due to rain, went ahead after course staff prepared the grounds and weather conditions improved.

Arthur Barakat from Cumberland Country Golf Club secured his place in the National Final with a round of 2-under 68, finishing one stroke ahead of defending champion Cody Harper, who shot a 69. Barakat started on the fourth tee and played six consecutive pars before making birdies at holes 10 and 16. He completed his round without a bogey.

Ken Druce qualified for exemption into the Australian PGA Senior Championship by posting the lowest score among players over 50 years old. Danni Vasquez-Boyd, a regular on the WPGA Tour of Australasia, was named leading female qualifier and will also compete at The Heritage.

Vasquez-Boyd was part of a group of five players who finished with scores of 4-over 74. A playoff determined who would claim the final spot in the National Final. Steve Gannon, Head Professional at Castle Hill, joined Dean Mulley, Patrick Joseph, James Single, and Vasquez-Boyd in the playoff. Gannon secured qualification by winning on the third playoff hole against Mulley.

The PGA Professionals Championship National Final is scheduled to take place at The Heritage Golf and Country Club’s St John Course from November 11-13. The event offers total prize money of $100,000.
