Grace Kim and Steve Allan achieved significant victories in the world of golf, marking a successful weekend for Australian players. Kim, trailing by two strokes on the final hole, made an impressive eagle to force a playoff at the LPGA major championship. Despite a setback in the first playoff hole, she managed an extraordinary birdie from a penalty drop and secured victory with another eagle.

Kim expressed her excitement, saying, “Obviously it’s a huge achievement for me.” She acknowledged overcoming doubts earlier in the year and credited her team for helping her regain motivation.

Steve Allan also celebrated success by winning his second PGA TOUR Champions event of 2025. He became the first wire-to-wire winner in DICK’s Open history with his son Joey as his caddie. Allan described it as a challenging yet rewarding experience, emphasizing the importance of staying calm under pressure.

The weekend saw other notable performances from Australian golfers across various tournaments. Matt Jones finished tied for fourth at LIV Golf Andalucia, while Cameron Smith secured seventh place. In addition, New Zealand’s Mark Brown won the Swiss Seniors Open on his Legends Tour debut.

Overall results highlighted strong performances by Australians and Kiwis in multiple events around the globe.
